If someone pays money for a product, the creator is taking their money in exchange for said product. Taking the product away because you don't want to spend money to maintain it sounds like a flaw on the developer side they should fix, not the customer that gave you a lot of money for that product. It sounds like the developers are trying to argue games are a service, which is not a synonym for product. Legally speaking, it's a battle of definition for lawyers to play with. I feel for the gamers on this, but I also avoided online games for this reason years ago. Considering how far developers have fallen, I think this should be a sign to course correct business while they can to avoid shuttering their doors. Find a way to satisfy their customers that doesn't break the bank rather than attack them for defending their purchase.

If only common sense wasn't dead.
